You may find that you need the same feature to be available for more than one main or “parent” theme. If that is the case, the feature should be created in a plugin instead of a functions.php for the specific theme. This may include template tags and other specific functions. Functions contained in plugins/plugins will be seen by all themes.
The single post template. This is used when querying a single publication. For this and all other query templates, index.php is used if the query template is not present.
